Please contact me to arrange an appointment for our initial consultation and/or if you have any questions. Our initial consultation will not be a counselling session, although you may find it therapeutic. The aim is to gain an understanding of your experience and expectations. I will ask a selection of questions. We will also explore whether we would like to work together and ascertain whether I am the right therapist for you. It is important that you feel you can trust me and that you would be comfortable talking with me about very personal thoughts and feelings. It is also an opportunity for you to clarify any issues you are still not sure of.
You can find further helpful information about counselling and psychotherapy, or about choosing a therapy or therapist, on the BACP Register where you can download information leaflets.
Counselling sessions will take place on the same day and at the same time, usually every week here.
I am not qualified to diagnose mental health or other health issues and do not prescribe drugs. I do not provide psychological reports or complete any applications.
Please note I do not engage with any client or former client on social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, blog comments, etc.) and will therefore ignore any requests for "friendship", business contacts, direct or @replies, blog responses or requests for a blog response within social media sites, to preserve the integrity of our therapeutic relationship and protect confidentiality. However, the internet makes this sometimes difficult, so please raise any issues that may occur in relation to social media interaction in our sessions.

Upon receipt of your enquiry we arrange an initial consultation which is free of charge. Depending on your preference, it will either be 15-30min via video or an email. It is an opportunity for both of us to raise any questions we may still have and helps us decide if online counselling is suitable for your needs.
If you decide to go ahead, I will ask you to sign a standard Counselling Agreement which I will send to you as an attachment via Hushmail.
Once we arrange a time for our first session I will send you an invoice and a request for payment via Paypal. If you choose to pay for sessions weekly, payment has to be received at least 48hrs in advance of your session. For Monday sessions, invoices need to be settled by 6pm UK time on Thursday the week before, and for Tuesday sessions by 1pm UK time on Fridays the week before, or the session will be considered cancelled.
The first couple of sessions will be utilised to determine the need and fit for on-going therapy.
